
Terry College of Business students applied their economics and analytics skills to real-world problems facing Georgians as part of the Carl Vinson Institute of Government Vinson Fellows Program.

When Allison O’Kelly BBA ’94 had her first child, she was working at Toys “R” Us and struggling to balance the demands of motherhood and working full time. Aiming to reduce her stress while remaining professionally competitive, she started an accounting firm, offering part-time and freelance work to local clients.

Johannes Kohler has stories and has learned lessons that today’s finance students — who’ve never seen a bear market — can hardly believe. As a senior lecturer in the finance department at the Terry College of Business, his job is to bridge the gap between Broad Street and Wall Street and help students learn the structure of the modern stock and bond markets.
